Cura constructed this online archive to document the evolution
of the Union College Asian garden(s) under the caretakership
of the annual Asian Garden Design seminar (AAH 70 + AAH 480).Without
the initial encouragement of Dean of the Faculty Christie
Sorum and Director of Converging Technologies Doug Klein, the
garden could not have come to fruition. The establishment
of the garden and its subsequent maintenance benefited from
the support of the East Asian Studies Program under a Freeman
Foundation grant, the Department of Visual Arts, the Dean
of Students and its Intellectual Enrichment Grant, and the
Facilities Services of Union College, especially the sage
advice and careful tending of Connie Schmitz, the Union College
landscape specialist. Information Technology Services proved essential
in obtaining multimedia software, providing curricular support
for electronic media, and designing this course archive.
Tomas Gold, a Czech exchange student 2003-4, and Eric Walklet
'06 designed these pages during the summer of 2004. All images
and text herein belong to Nixi Cura, who encourages linkage
to and dissemination of the contents for educational purposes
